First of all, thanks a lot for all your help and your support on this chaos! As if the UK tour chaos wasn´t insane enough yet, we have found out, that the infamous JON KNIGHT is the bass player for AMENTI, the opening band.
They played the big game to get on the bill and fooled all of us, agents, clubs, bands, crew & the faithful fans. When he got caught he denied to be JON KNIGHT but we found out, cause the www. leaves traces.
Cheers to some die-hards from our board, they did investigate like crazy (or better like the good ol´ Sherklock Holmes!  and proofed the true indentity of this liar to the public.
Sorry but this deceit fucks up my believe in many things once again...How can our booking agent choose somebody like him for the UK?
I don´t know. We had trust in our partners, a big mistake!
That´s why we do look for a new world wide booking agent and will stop to work with DRAGON PRODUCTIONs in the future. This mess isn´t sorted yet...
Sorry about all that trouble, we still had a good time in the UK and Ireland cause of the fantastic fans and the great ONSLAUGHT!

Cheers to Schmier, Destruction, Onslaught, etc, for this reason:
We have heard these horror stories now from UK, South America, and North America tour legs. And I can certainly see where these events shake your faith in the metal business. But at the end of every story,including this thread, Schmier is gracious, and grateful for the tour, and for playing for the folks that come out. Sometimes I wonder, when hearing these stories, why they bother touring anymore.
Then, the answer is given by Schmier himself: to play the gigs. To thrash for people that truly appreciate it.

You should look into Factory Music for UK booking.
Thouse guys have never let me down. Every show (except the really small ones) has come with full nightliner preproduction and such, they don't mess around, they get the job done in a way everyone's happy with.
It's a sad situation because it's people like HAGP who don't do their jobs that make it harder for genuine, honest people like myself to make a start in the music industry - I had a tough time indeed! |

You can't fault the rest of the guys in Amenti - They're all around a decent, hard working band, I know one of them personally and he's not the type to fuck around with a tour like that.
As for the one guy, well... He didn't do it on purpose, he just didn't do his job very well. |

Good God...I was offered one of your shows from him but we couldn't take it because we were so busy! He has been offering Amenti to me for months now, mainly as a support to the UK shows / tours we organise.
Good luck with finding a good European agent, there are quite a few gems around. |

Hi, I've had dealings with Jon Knight of HAGP before and I thought I would let you guys know what I know about this gentleman and his business practices. For a while I promoted very small UK bands in my very small home city. I came across Jon Knight somehow and after that I got some very big offers from him including Destruction. I never took him up on them, but I was always offered them despite the fact I was no position to put them on.
I am now going to paste all the emails he has sent me into this thread. Most of them were sent to at least 30 or 40 other people so its not like I'm betraying his trust.

I've edited out his mobile and home numbers. Amenti are a band who always seemed to get the breaks others bands didn't. They got to tour Australia with Akercocke and the Berzerker and they got to tour Eastern Europe with Krisiun and Rotting Christ despite being on a very small UK label. I always thought they were just lucky but it seems the truth was that Jon was using his influence to promote his own band.
I personally believe if Amenti have any intergrity left, they should fire Jon and offer a public apology to Destruction and Onslaught.

I don't see how they think they can get anywhere at all now. They're finished.
When Schmier announced he'd found out the truth, the guitarist showed up and acted all surprised and 'yeah, it is him' - a bit too fucking late i think.
They had their chance to come clean - but they did what they do best until they couldn't deny it any more: they lied.
They've still not mentioned it on their website -

After recent discussions within the band we have all decided to part ways with HAGP Music due to the huge mess with the recent Destruction tour. Although in reality this was only a 1 off tour agreement with HAGP Music Nick will continue as usual to book all Amenti's gigs and tours and has recently been working hard booking the Speedtheory/Amenti headline UK tour along with Speedtheorys agency. We regret the actions of HAGP Music and hope it does not reflect badly on the band or the UK Metal scene. Amenti are still working with The Flaming Arts agency

And yeah, they did 6 or 7 dates in Russia with Vader and Rotting Christ, and they toured with Destruction, but they haven't toured anywhere else - and it doesn't look like they will after this.

But we shall see. I wouldn't blame either band if it does.
That all being said as a band we're trying to work out where to go from here with this, obviously Jon has some serious issues he needs to work out but there remains alot of things he has done for us that we can't just forget despite a monumental fuck up of this proportion. Not to mention he's been a part of Amenti since the beginning.. So as I said I'll keep you updated.

Despite the loss of one of their original members Amenti are feeling positive. With their debut album being released and available in all good record shops as of the 3rd of December, lots of upcoming tours in 2008 and the preliminary work on their sophomore release Amenti are feeling very optimistic!
