Favorite bands: Rush, Iron Maiden, Emperor, Destruction, Deathrow, Exodus, Heathen, Realm, Anacrusis, Omen, Kreator, Mekong Delta, Fates Warning, Porcupine Tree, Sieges Even, Testament, Toxik, Annihilator, Living Death, Redemption, Riot, Amulance, Deadly Blessing, Abigor, Mortal Sin, Iced Earth, Flotsam & Jetsam, Sabbat, Cynic, Atheist, Pariah (UK), Sanctuary, Nevermore, Camel, IQ, Pendragon, Textures, Overkill, Megadeth, Metallica, Ayreon, Agent Steel.. etc. etc. etc.
I could go on for a while, but it's clear I hope. I could easily give a spin to some (technical) thrash metal, progressive metal, black metal, (US) power metal, death metal, nwobhm like that I love to listen to progressive/symphonic rock etc.
Why Destruction? I simply love the mixture of rawness, melodies, innovative riffs, exciting tempo's, screaming vocals, heavy parts, technical parts etc. etc. It's a band that binds all the exciting stuff that metal has to offer, except for a (power) ballad
. I like the new material just as much as the old material and I can even listen to The Least Successful Human Canonball, which has some decent riffs and nice progressive touches, but someone by the name of Thomas R. ruins the record with his forced Phil Rind/Phil Anselmo immitation. To cut a long story short, I don't believe in Neo-Destruction, just like that I don't believe in the statement that Mourning Has Broken from Sabbat isn't a Sabbat album (it is, and it's quite good). Alas, luckily Schmier and thrash came back.
My favorites would look like this: (although it can change once in a while)
1. Eternal Devastation
2. D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.
3. Cracked Brain
4. Sentence Of Death
5. The Antichrist
6. The Day Of Reckoning
7. Thrash Anthems
8. Release From Agony
9. Infernal Overkill
10. Mad Butcher
12. Metal Discharge
13. Inventor Of Evil
14. All Hell Breaks Loose
15. The Least Successful Human Canonball
16. Them Not Me
15. Destruction
Questions? Just ask

You organize concerts?

Yep, 4 times in a year in a small venue in Vierlingsbeek (North-Brabant). Genres differ per concert, but they get well visited while we're kinda in the middle of nowhere. No 'big' bands or something, but we've had The Monolith Deathcult, Chainsaw, Carach Angren, Onheil, Cirith Gorgor, Gorath, Dead Head, Lord Volture, The Lucifer Principle, Cliteater to name a few.

Caveman_On_Command wrote:Nice bands, always good to say someone work his ass off to organize great gigs. Although I do not live there (I live in Twente), you're an example for all of those venues that simply book those horrific 2-chord rockbands. Overrated, especially De Wereld Draait Door is to blame for hyping those terrible bands.

NDS wrote:Cool, last year I did the same. Small gig with local/small bands. I was going to do another one this year, but I got problems finding the right bands that fit our budget so I decided not to do a gig this year (or at least not before september/october). But I'll prepare another strike for the end of the year or next year!
Let me know when your next concert is, maybe I'll attend!

If you need any help finding cool bands for little budget we could figure something out, I managed to get some "contacts" over the years. I allmost never exceed the 500 euro limit and get very cool bands to play. We can discuss this further on facebook if you're interested
